Ways you can get involved

Our foundation has committees that accomplish our animal welfare efforts, and volunteers are what make it all happen. We are looking for reliable volunteers to serve on committees, with preferably a one-year commitment, in addition to volunteers who can help out with specific, one-off events or programs.

Programs and Community Outreach Committee

  • Pet Food Pantry Brigade, to package and routinely stock free pantries around the city with pet food
  • Store Benefit Weekends to spotlight and raise funds for specific animal welfare organizations (6 weekend
    events in 2024)
  • The Big Fix, our matching fund effort to spay and neuter colony cats. These events require volunteers early morning and late afternoon on the days they occur to help load crated cats to be delivered to the partner vet. Additional TNR support and temporary foster volunteers are always helpful. There will be several of these efforts throughout 2024.
  • Compassionate Care Clinics with partner agencies will provide basic vet care to pets of people who need it. Volunteer services might be setting up a temporary site, organization, directing clients, cleaning up.

Special Events Committee

We host parties and gatherings, such as Grant Events, to honor animal welfare nonprofit grant recipients, celebrations, Volunteer Appreciation, small working parties to support the Programs and Community Outreach Committee, and larger fundraising events. There are many opportunities with this committee, and we need volunteers both consistently (to help plan and design the events) and to work individual events, as scheduled. Experienced party planners would be a plus.

Marketing and Design
We need volunteers in branding, design, illustration, copywriting, marketing support, photography, print, digital, video, and social media. Every program and effort we do has its own associated marketing package and we’d like to build a team of collaborators, creators, and makers to help spread out the design load. Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) is necessary. Whether you’d like to take on a whole project, or create individual pieces and parts, we’d welcome the help.
